In standard **International Carrom Federation (ICF)** rules, scoring is determined at the end of each board (round) after one player or team pockets all of their assigned carrommen (pieces).

---

## 1. Basic Piece Values

| Piece | Point Value | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **White Piece** | **1 Point** | Assigned to one player/team |
| **Black Piece** | **1 Point** | Assigned to the opponent |
| **Red Piece (Queen)** | **3 Points** | Must be "covered" by pocketing one of your own pieces immediately on the same or next turn |

---

## 2. End-of-Board Scoring Calculation

Only the player or team that **clears all their assigned pieces first** wins the board and scores points for that round. The opponent receives **0 points**.

The winner's score for the board is calculated as follows:

$$\text{Board Score} = (\text{Number of Opponent's Remaining Pieces on the Board}) + (\text{Queen Bonus if Secured by Winner})$$

### The Queen Rules & Bonus

* **3-Point Value:** If the board winner successfully pocketed and covered the Queen during the game, **3 bonus points** are added to their score.
* **Score Limit for Queen Bonus:** Once a player reaches **22 points or higher** in the overall match, they no longer receive the 3-point bonus for covering the Queen.

---

## 3. Game & Match Limits

* **Target Score:** A match is usually played to **25 points** or across **8 boards** (whichever comes first).
* The player or team with the highest total score at the end wins the match.

---

## 4. Fouls & Penalties

When a player commits a foul, they lose a turn, and a penalty piece (**due**) is placed back in the center circle.

* **Striker Pocketed:** If you pocket the striker, you pay a penalty of **1 of your previously pocketed pieces**, which is placed in the center circle. If you haven't pocketed any pieces yet, the penalty is "owed" and returned as soon as you pocket one.
* **Striker + Carromman Pocketed:** If the striker and one of your pieces sink together, the pocketed piece returns to the center circle along with an extra penalty piece if available.
* **Pocketing Opponent's Piece:** Your opponent's piece stays in the pocket and counts toward their remaining pieces (helping them), and your turn ends unless you also pocketed your own piece on the same shot.
